The East European Shepherd is one of the most popular national breeds in Russia. It was bred in the period when Russian people were searching for a breed with great qualities of service dog, ready to work in any weather conditions throughout all the territory of the USSR.

The East European Shepherd has always been demanded in the organizations, where it was required the participation of service dogs - border guard duties, police work, work in emergency situations.

Nowadays this breed is a permanent participant of the dog shows and various training and sport competitions.
